Troegs Nugget Nectar & 8Bit Fiesta!
This week for Craft Beers & Indie Games we decided to try to let a game tell us how to do our job.
8Bit Fiesta, created by Linus Fredriksson, is a couch party game for you and your friends, akin to Mario Party. Here’s the twist; it has a built in drinking game!
Obviously, this caught our attention as avid beergamers (a word we just invented). The fast paced and action packed gameplay of this title kept us endlessly enthralled while the competitiveness coupled with the punishment (or reward depending on your view) of drinking created an overall great partying experience. The music, characters, sound effects, and large selection of mini-games made this game well rounded and added to its replayability. I personally enjoyed the little interludes while announcing the winner of a round, or crowning the champion the best.
Winning never tasted so sweet.
When gearing up to play a drinking game, what do you usually go shopping for? Bud Light? Keystone? PBR, maybe? We don’t.
For a game that was a fresh, in your face, fun spin on an old genre, we needed a beer that could deliver the same. Troegs Nugget Nectar was just the beer for the job. Once a year, Troegs take the first batch of harvested Nugget, Palisade, and Simcoe hops to create the Nugget Nectar. With citrusy, green, and vegetal notes right up front, this Imperial Amber Ale is fresh, light, hoppy, and all around delicious. Great piney and resin flavors truly showcase the freshness of the hops used, and it adds a little extra bite when giving it a little bit of a chug. A fitting punishment/reward for such a fun game.
Can you handle the hops? Are you ready to fucking party? Go download 8Bit Fiesta and upload some Nugget Nectars into your face ASAP!
