BEER REVIEW – [Founders] 2017 KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout)

Sweet Black KBS Coffee Goodness!

Just as a little disclaimer – each one of these KBS bottles cost me like $12 – so before you watch this video and get super stoked to go out and try one, just let that price point sink in.  Now, this wasn’t one of those larger sized bottles either, this was just a standard sized bottle.  Yikes.  What I’m really trying to say is, if you’re not a big beer person, I don’t think the investment is worth it for you.  But, for the brave few, the beer nerds, thrill seekers and mad money-havers – hoochie mama – this is a tasty beast of a brew.

Here’s what Founders has to say about this beer:

“What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight.”

KBS is the talk of the town right now in the beer world, and for good reason.  Having to wait an entire year for each batch to come out not only gives the beer a special, matured flavor, it also turns the release into a beautiful “HOLY FUCK THEY’RE GONNA RUN OUT” adventure to snatch a few up while you can.

Watch the video and let me know what you think in the comments.  Enjoy you crazy beer people!
